Friday, August 21, 2009

Well, its August 2009 now Jordyn is 2 and Joshua is 41/2 years. And its raining again. It's been the wettest summer I can remember. Waiting for some sunshine....maybe we'll have a good fall (haha)

Joshua's new haircut

We finally did it. Vince has been itching to do this for a long time.

There were lots of tears involved (on Joshua's part) But we're all happy in the end.

bye-bye summer

Well, this summer has come and is almost gone. Can't believe how fast it goes by. Didn't do much, went camping once. Maybe once more on Sept long weekend.

Josh

Went to Winkler for one weekend to check out the start of Winkler's 100th anniversary.

Celebrated Vince's mom's 65th birthday... her first surprise party ever (I think).

And checked out one Pavilion at Folklorama (Africa). Forgot my camera though so I didn't get any pictures.
Oh yeah, we also went to Birds Hill Beach on probably the coldest day of the summer to go swimming and have a weiner roast on a fire. We got there forgetting that there was a fire ban because of the dry weather, plus it was too cold to swim.

Other than that, its been grand...

Manitoba Senior Co-ed Volleyball

Well, we finished our last round robin game of the season today with a win, putting us in 2nd place in our tier. That means we're moving up! Now we have playoffs to try and win some money, and then we're done for another year. Anyways, here's some pics.

The Lost is Found

Well the jeep was found by the police, actually not very far from Vince's work.. the police had to fingerprint and do their stuff, but now its in the shop getting fixed. There was some front and back end damage, the inside was covered in cigarette butts (and who knows what else) It apparantly reaked of smoke. And of coarse, the door was damaged as well as the steering column. Who knows what else is damaged.
I think Autopak should make it mandatory for stolen vehicles to install the anti-theft devises available, but they don't. Who knows maybe it will be stolen again the day we get it back...before we get the imobilizer installed.
Anyways, we get to drive a nice new vehicle (Ford Focus with heated seats) while we wait.

Lost!

Well, I never thought it would happen to us, but it did... It's making me angry just thinking about it right now, but if anyone sees a red jeep lying around on the side of a road or field somewhere, please call the police. Yes, our jeep was stolen last night. Right off of our driveway too. The worst part is we have a club, but did we put it on? No. Vince went out to start the jeep this morning to go to work and I'm looking out the window wondering where he moved it cause I couldn't see it...

At least we took out the carseat and there was nothing else of value in the jeep.

I'm fuming right now...

More Milestones

Well, lots has happened since I last wrote a blog. Joshua turned one on January 9th, he's started walking, and the worst of all, I'm back at work. I can't believe that one year has passed by already. Joshua had a birthday party with the family, grandma made a beautiful cake covered with Smarties, and he put out his candle with his finger. I guess that's better than spitting on the cake.
Yesterday Joshua walked half way across the room before he plopped down on his bum. He's discovered that walking is fun and when he does walk, he's laughing his head off. I, unfortunately, had to go back to work full time. My boss basically said that I had to take my regular hours or no job. I can find somebody to work for my, but there's nobody to take the hours right now. It kinda sucks being the only tech in a clinic. I am very grateful that mom is our babysitter right now though, it makes it a bit easier going to work. The only redeeming factor in going back to work is making money again, but I have to wait until the end of the month before I get my 1st paycheck. Its seeming like a long time right now...

Christmas 2005

Well, another family gathering has come and gone.

Jay, Grandpa, Becky and Joshua
Do we look excited or what?
Perry and Kelly
Siemens family gathering

Time sure does fly when you're having fun. Only 3 more weeks and I have to go back to work. yuck. Vince and I ordered our christmas present to each other yesterday - an elliptical machine. Yes we are going to be working out in the new year. Started our new years resolutions early I guess. We're spending enought on this thing so it had better work. I'll post some pictures when we get it. Maybe some before and after pictures of us too. just kidding.
My cousin Janelle just had her baby on Sunday. Congratulations Janelle! Ty Lucas, he is 8 lbs 14 oz and 22 inches long (Joshua was 8lb 13oz, 21.5 " and also born on Sunday) must be related or something. Vince thinks Ty looks like Uncle Abe.

MSCVL

Well, today was our last volleyball game in our 1st round robin (Manitoba Senior Co-ed Volleyball League) of the season. We had to win this game to stay in our teir... we won, but not because we're so good, we won by default. Our oppostion didn't have enough girls. Yeah! anyways. We'll take whatever we can get. We did play the team anyways since the ref was there and they had most of their players and we had all of ours. We were kicking butt for the most part. I'm happy anyways cause we're not in the bottom teir anymore, we're up 2....

halloween

Well this was our 2nd halloween and we have a record number of kids coming by, record low that is. We only had 12 this year, last year it was 15 or 16. I don't really understand the lack of kids considering there are children in almost every house on our street, but hey, all the more candy for us...
We didn't take Joshua out this year mainly because he doesn't eat candy yet and we really don't need the extra calories. (we have lots of leftover candy we didn't hand out). Maybe I'll pawn some loot off to my wonderful nieces. (I'm sure Daryl and Janet wouldn't mind more sugar in their house... ha ha - what are aunts for right Daryl?)

Anyways, here's a shot of our house and Joshua on halloween...
